Nancy O'Dell's first job in the broadcast industry was as an anchor and reporter at WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She later worked as anchor of the morning news and as a crime reporter at WCBD-TV. When she was in Charleston O'Dell's reports on the lenient police approach to DUI cases resulted in the launch of a State Law Enforcement Division investigation that led to state authorities re-issuing an even more strict directive on these cases. Ms. O'Dell was awarded an award for the Best Report of the Award from the Associated Press for South Carolina's media. O'Dell later worked at the Miami-based station of NBC WTVJ-TV as an investigative reporter, before she joined Access Hollywood in the role of weekend co-anchor. O'Dell, as well as anchoring the main show for Access Hollywood, also appears on NBC News Today as well Dateline NBC. She has covered such events as The Oscars The Emmys The Grammys and The Golden Globe Awards as well as co-hosting a number of pre-show arrivals in preparation for The Emmys and the Golden Globes. Co-hosted The Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants.
